ANALYTICAL SERVICES (AS) DEPARTMENT

The Analytical Services Department plays a pivotal role in providing services to the Centre, research institutions, other clients and as well As generate revenue for the Centre. The Department is saddled with the task of carrying out chemical analyses on sample materials of varying matrix employing various methods of analyses. The Analytical Services Department has two (2) Divisions namely; Wet Analytical Division and Instrumental Analytical Division. WET ANALYTICAL DIVISION The Division consists of the Wet Classical Laboratory. It offers all types of well-known wet chemical analyses widely performed and relied upon with the results ascertained by the effective use of certified reference materials(CRMs) and laboratory standard materials in replicates. The methods include titrimetric, gravimetric and colorimetric analyses. INSTRUMENTAL ANALYTICAL DIVISION The Division carries out analyses on varying nature of sample materials using versatile state of the art analytical equipment such as Agilent 4210 Microwave Plasma-Atomic Emission Spectrometer (MP-AES). It is ideal for use in mining and solid minerals industries, metallurgical industries, food and agriculture, manufacturing, research and development, etc.
