The department has recently been repositioned towards contributing to the achievement of the mandate of the establishment of the Centre. The department is composed of two major divisions namely, Engineering Services and Auxiliary Divisions. These divisions function to close the idle time of research and development occasioned by breakdowns in utility and equipment, ensure industrial safety as well as carry out some aspects of research and development.
Engineering Services Division
The Engineering Services division is particularly saddled with following responsibilities: 1. Project Engineering and Design 2. Mechanical Production 3. Welding and Fabrication Technology and Training 4. Provision of Utilities (water, mechanical and electrical services).
The Auxiliary Division is saddled with services, repairs and maintenance of breakdowns such as: 1. Civil and Building Engineering facilities 2. Electrical Equipment 3. Motor Vehicle Transportation and Repair Services 4. Glassblowing Technology and Training 5. Industrial Safety.
